Nicole is an award-winning writer/director interested in gender/sexuality, belief, identity, and community. She’s in post-production on BULLETPROOF STOCKINGS FOR LADIES ONLY, her second feature in a documentary trilogy about American religious women. She began BIBLE QUIZ, the first, while studying at NYU. BIBLE QUIZ won the Slamdance Grand Jury Award and 9 other festival awards, was released theatrically in 7 cities, on Netflix, internationally on TV on the Sundance Channel Global and was selected for the US State Department’s “American Film Showcase”. Nicole’s narrative short, PUBLIC POOL, is in development, was selected for the Berlinale Talents short film station, and won screenplay competitions at the Phoenix, Bare Bones, Sacramento, and California Women’s Film Festival. Her short doc exhibited at 2015 Viennale and she has collaborated with the MIT Media Lab and the Huffington Post, and been an artist in residence at Art Kibbutz, Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, and VCCA.
